The beverage shop on the third floor

This morning in the advanced mathematics class (remedial course), a guy sitting next to me suddenly struck up a conversation.

"Are you from the dorm across from mine?"

I didn't react (I'm face-blind), and he continued.

"I'm from Room 106."

"Oh, is that Building 2?"

"Yeah."

"So, are you a junior?"

"Yeah."

"Is advanced math really that difficult?"

"Mainly because I got sidetracked by starting a business in my sophomore year, and I failed the advanced math retake. My girlfriend is preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam, so I have no choice but to study hard and accompany her in preparing for it."

"…"

And so, he shared a bit about his entrepreneurial experience.

In his sophomore year, he opened a beverage shop on the third floor of the school cafeteria, with a partner. He bought the equipment himself and hired part-time help to run the shop. After a year, he broke even and decided to give it up. Later, someone specifically contacted him to ask about his experience in running a beverage shop.

Some college students are already on the path of entrepreneurship, while others are still wasting time in their dorms...

At every stage of our lives, there are people ahead of us who have done things we might have thought about but dared not do, and some may have already succeeded.

However, most people still waste time like frogs in the mud, living a life of just getting by.

Last year, I tried to learn some knowledge about website building. Although my major is not related, I was still very interested and kept exploring. I created my personal blog, a file download site, an image site, a small online shop, and so on.

Later, I tried to register a WeChat public account and have been working hard to keep it going, exploring different styles and approaches. Although it still looks bleak at the moment, I enjoy it and feel it's a meaningful endeavor, so I want to persist.

This summer vacation, I bit the bullet and signed up for Dapeng's online course, starting my journey of learning Adobe tools. Now I can do many things with Photoshop!

Additionally, I self-studied Premiere Pro and can now do simple video editing and processing. My skill set is continuously sprouting and growing new branches.

At this point, if I were to drop out, I could still find ways to support myself. I am constantly growing...

Having written so much, I still want to say that many people are ahead of you and are still striving forward. Are you also going to do something?
